In 2023 we obtained the ISO 14001 Certification, the international standard for environmental management systems. This achievement underscores our commitment to sustainability, ensuring that our operations minimize environmental impact while enhancing efficiency. By adhering to the rigorous requirements of ISO 14001, we are dedicated to continuous improvement in our environmental performance, compliance with regulatory obligations, and the implementation of best practices. This certification not only reflects our responsibility towards the environment but also demonstrates our commitment to our stakeholders and the broader community.

In 2022, we partnered with the Fraunhofer Institute to assist in the search for new and more sustainable solvents to be used in the analysis of polyolefins, aiming to improve their impact on health and the environment.

We're also collaborating with the Toulouse Biotechnology Institute (France) in a project “A solution for plastic waste pollution (SOLFORPLAS)” funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020 for studying the reduction of the molar mass caused by the degradation process that polyethylene may suffer when exposed to biological, mechanical or chemical agents, using Polymer Char’s GPC-IR. One of our goals is to balance our energy consumption by integrating renewable resources into our practices. To this end, solar panels have been installed on both of our buildings to be more efficient and depend less and less on conventional electricity.

The construction of the building was conceived from the outset to integrate sustainability and efficiency. The layout and design of the spaces promote responsible recycling practices. High efficiency ventilation systems, energy-efficient appliances, and intelligent lighting controls work in harmony to optimize energy usage from solar panels. Furthermore, the space design has been optimized to make the most out of the natural light through large glass walls all around.

In 2023, we became the first company in Valencia to be part of UNICEF's program Enterprises for Climate Change. This program aims at dedicating resources not only to providing aid to the communities that have been impacted by environmental disasters, but most importantly, it shifts the focus to preventing greater damages by equipping the communities with better structures, constructions, and equipment to face future catastrophes.

We are proud to support an organization dedicated to charity and social relief. Recognizing the importance of giving back to the community, we actively collaborate with Cáritas to make a positive impact on various social causes. Through our contributions we aim to empower it in its mission to bring relief to those in need.

In 2023, we welcomed member with a disability to our team, in affirmation of diversity. Our collaboration with the organization ASINDOWN is also materializing in other ways, for which we are excited and humbled. This collaboration reflects our dedication to supporting individuals with Down Syndrome and their families by promoting awareness, providing resources, and fostering a more inclusive society. we aspire to create a positive impact, break down barriers, and champion the rights and well-being of those with Down Syndrome.

In 2024, we are delighted and privileged to be part of Asindown Valencia 's latest innovative and unique project, La Mare Que Va (LMQV), a hospitality and tourism training center. Located in the Valencia Marina, LMQV serves as a dedicated space for technical training tailored to individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, offering them avenues for both educational and professional development.

Inspired by one of Spain's most renowned restaurants, we traded in our lab coats for aprons and embraced a new activity as part of our Nutrition & Wellness Corporate Program and in celebration of our 30th Anniversary. Our destination this time was the Food&Fun Valencia Kitchen, where we dived into the Roots Experience. This unique Circular Challenge aims to bring sustainability into cooking by promoting conscientious practices such as utilizing seasonal ingredients in our dishes.

Our time in the kitchen not only pleased our palates with each flavorful dish we prepared but also created a new bond among the team. Through this experience, we shared and reinforced the values of excellence, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and innovative thinking.

At Polymer Char, we prioritize the health and wellness of our team. Throughout the year, several sports and physical activities are organized to promote a balanced lifestyle. From paddle tournaments, to yoga sessions, and spinning classes, we try to create opportunities for our employees to stay active and energized.

Due to its popularity within Polymer Char, this activity deserves a space of its own. Whether it's lacing up for a charity race or joining a local marathon, several employees enjoy this collective passion for running.

Understanding the importance of nourishing both body and mind, we've hosted nutrition workshops for our employees. These workshops provide valuable insights into healthy eating habits, meal planning, and making informed food choices. From learning about nutritional labels to exploring new recipes and dietary strategies, our team gains practical knowledge and tools to support their overall well-being.

Other team-building activities are organized to allow everyone to connect in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. These activities have the goal of strengthening bonds, building trust, and creating a healthy corporate culture.
