IR5 MCT is an infrared detector designed to determine on-line concentration and composition. It incorporates a high temperature flow through cell, interference filters at five different wavelengths and a high sensitivity thermoelectrically cooled MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride detector) with no requirements of liquid Nitrogen.
Integrated into Polymer Char GPC-IR, CEF or CFC instruments for the analysis of Polyolefins, it is an ideal combination since it provides excellent sensitivity and superb long term outstanding baseline stability in both concentration and composition (branch content) signals. It is capable to distinguish differences of 1 branch per 1,000 atoms of carbon, which is especially needed in the case of HPDE pipe resins.
IR5 MCT detector incorporates a vapor leak sensor close to the flow through cell and internal temperature controllers for the heated cell and transfer line to allow its safe use for high temperature applications.
